CanSAGE Award Nominations
CanSAGE Awards recognize outstanding contributions to the field of minimally invasive gynecology. Learn more about the criteria for these awards and the nomination process below.

It’s Time to Recognize and Nominate your Colleagues!
This year 20 nominees will receive awards at the CanSAGE 2024 Annual Conference in Victoria, BC:
- (1) Award for Early Achievement in Minimally Invasive Gynecology
- (1) Award for Excellence in Gynecologic Care
- (18) Resident Awards for Excellence in Minimally Invasive Surgery (One per OB/GYN Residency Program)
Successful candidates will receive:
- Complimentary registration for the 2024 CanSAGE Conference in Victoria, BC
- Complimentary CanSAGE membership for one year
- Recognition during the Closing Ceremonies at the 2024 CanSAGE Conference in Victoria, BC
Award Criteria
AWARD FOR EARLY ACHIEVEMENT
IN MINIMALLY INVASIVE GYNECOLOGY
The CanSAGE Award for Early Achievement in Minimally Invasive Gynecology recognizes a gynaecologist working in the surgical and/or medical management of benign gynecological conditions.
The recipient should demonstrate promise in either leadership, education or research in the area of women’s health.
Applicants must be within the first five years of practice. Only CanSAGE members can nominate for this award.
AWARD FOR
EXCELLENCE IN
GYNECOLOGIC CARE
The CanSAGE Award for Excellence in Gynecologic Care recognizes an individual who has distinguished themselves in any of the following fields of expertise: allied health profession, basic science, health education, or clinical practice.
The recipient should exemplify outstanding contributions in clinical care, advocacy, leadership, education or research in the area of gynecologic health. Only CanSAGE members can nominate for this award.
Resident Awards for Excellence in Minimally Invasive Surgery
The CanSAGE Resident Awards for Excellence in Minimally Invasive Surgery recognizes residents who demonstrate leadership in their training program and a commitment to minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. The recipients should demonstrate contributions to the field and must be a senior resident (PGY3-5) in a Canadian OBGYN residency program. Only Program Directors may nominate residents for this award. There is no CanSAGE membership requirement.
Nomination Requirements
Early Achievement in Minimally Invasive Gynecology Award
&
Excellence in Gynecologic Care Award
- Completion of online nomination form
- Letter in support of the Candidate (700 word limit)
- Two (2) additional letters of support (300 word limit)
- A current CV of the nominee
- Self-nominations are acceptable but must include a letter of reference from a CanSAGE member
- Only CanSAGE members may nominate for this award
Resident Awards for Excellence in Minimally Invasive Surgery
- Completion of online nomination form
- Each OB/GYN Residency Program may nominate a maximum of one (1) resident each year
- Only Program Directors may nominate residents for this award; there is no CanSAGE membership requirement

Award(s) will only be presented if nominations are received and meet all listed criteria.
Nomination Process
Complete the online nomination form.
Make sure to include all required documents before submission.
The deadline to submit your nomination is Friday July 19, 2024 – 5pm ET
Nominations will be submitted to the CanSAGE Awards Committee for consideration.
The selected award recipients will be contacted prior to the 2024 Annual CanSAGE Conference and invited to attend by July 31, 2024.
The recipients will be given their awards in person at the 2024 Annual CanSAGE Conference and will receive free conference registration and CanSAGE membership for one year.
CanSAGE will contact the recipients at a later date to request a headshot photo to be added on the CanSAGE website.
