Dr. Belland completed her Doctor of Medicine at McMaster University and her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Calgary. She completed a surgical fellowship in Advanced Endoscopy & Endometriosis at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, as well as a Master of Science in Molecular Virology & Immunology at McMaster University.
She provides gynecologic care, is a clinical assistant professor, and is the Fellowship Director of the Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Fellowship at the University of Calgary.
Dr. Belland is an active member of CanSAGE (Canadian Society for the Advancement of Gynecologic Excellence), She is a regular contributor to the CanSAGE Video Library.
Dr. Sarah Maheux-Lacroix is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director of the Minimally Invasive Gynecology Fellowship at CHU de Québec–Université Laval. She has authored more than 100 peer reviewed publications and has contributed to clinical practice guidelines for major organizations, including the AAGL, FIGO, and the SOGC. Her clinical and research programs focus on the diagnosis and management of endometriosis and the use of advanced ultrasound.
Dr. Caitlin Jago practices at the Rockyview General Hospital and the Calgary Chronic Pain Centre in Calgary, Alberta. She completed her AAGL MIGS fellowship and a concurrent fellowship in Simulation and Medical Education in Ottawa in 2021, and co-leads the University of Calgary OBGYN Simulation curriculum. She has presented locally and nationally on chronic pelvic pain, and is the co-chair of the CanSAGE Pelvic Pain Network. Previously, she was the CanSAGE Fellow Bootcamp co-director, and a speaker at CanSAGE HystSurg. Her clinical and research interests include psychosocial impacts of chronic pain and endometriosis, and Enhanced Recovery After Surgery in OBGYN.
Dr. Cleve Ziegler is Director of Gynecology at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, a McGill University affiliated tertiary Center and one of Canada’s ten best hospitals. He has been on staff continuously since 1994 and has held his present position since 2010. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at McGill University.
Personal interests include expertise in the management of abnormally invasive placenta, complex Caesarian section, and open gynecological surgery. He has also been recognized locally and nationally for excellence and commitment in teaching to both residents and family physicians about hormonal contraception, management of abnormal uterine bleeding and menopause treatment.
Dr. Ziegler was formerly an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada, an associate editor of the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Canada and has been recognized by the courts in Quebec as an expert in medicolegal issues for over 15 years. He is often sought by the Jehovah Witness community here in Quebec because of his surgical expertise and commitment to limiting blood loss, blood transfusion and optimization of hemoglobin prior to delivery and surgery.
Kristina Arendas completed medical school and residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa, followed by a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and Masters in Health Management at McMaster University. After several years as assistant professor at the University of Ottawa and lead for Quality and Safety in Gynecology at the Ottawa Hospital, Dr. Arendas joined the team at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Québec, Laval University in 2021. Her gynecologic practice focuses on complex gynecologic surgery with a special interest in management of endometriosis, fibroids and chronic pelvic pain.
Dr. Valerie To is a gynecological surgeon practicing in Montreal. She completed her MIGS fellowship in 2017 at the Centre for Advanced Reproductive Endosurgery in Sydney and is the fellowship program director at the University of Montreal. Her interests include reproductive surgery, endometriosis and surgical education.
I am originally from a small reserve in northern BC. I went to university and medical school at the University of Alberta. I did my Obs/Gyne residency training at Dalhousie University in Halifax NS before doing a Minimally Invasive Gynecology Fellowship in Regina under Dr. John Thiel. I currently practice in Regina where I live with my wife and two children. I am involved in coordinating the MIS Fellowship Program in Regina. I am the Obs/Gyne Residency Program Director with the University of Saskatchewan for the Regina site, and am the Simulation co-director for the program. I have an interest in fibroids, endometriosis, hysteroscopic sterilization, chronic pelvic pain, and surgical simulation and am involved in several research studies in these areas. I am likely known more for my flashy socks than I am for any kind of surgical expertise….
